A commitment that makes big waves! As a longstanding partner of water sport, Tutima sets sail aboard a ship of its own: the Tutima racing yacht.
Since 2009, the watch manufacturer from Glashütte in Saxony has sponsored this 14-meter racing yacht, which competes in the most prestigious international regattas with its crew of 15 women sailors.
The titanium-grey yacht is an eye-catcher, and so too is its crew, which includes sailors who have competed in world and European championships. “Ladies first!” is the motto aboard the “Tutima”.
An all-women team led by the successful skipper Kirsten Harmstorf-Schönwitz from Hamburg successfully achieved new best times and top placements – unprecedented achievements in the German “big-boat scene”.
The “Tutima” competes in the largest group in the offshore division. These exhausting regattas were mostly a man’s world, but these women have impressively proved otherwise. With their pink outfits, the sailors aboard the titanium-grey ship with the black mainsail attract everyone’s admiring gaze. And their placements are equally impressive: German Vice-Champions in 2014 at the ORCi; second place at the Warnemünder Woche in 2015; and an outstanding third-place finish in the Kiel-Cup Alpha at the Kieler Woche in 2015.
